Why "YES" on Recall

California is Beautiful. We’ve just Lost our Edge.
Why “YES” on Recall.
False Claim: The Governor claims we have a $75.7 Billion Dollar Surplus, suggesting CA is flush with money.
Fact #1: Our Governor counts $37.7 billion of federal funding set for schools as part of his “surplus.” The surplus is much less. Fact #2: California is actually going into $12 billion more in DEBT thanks to the Governor’s short-term spending, including forgiving traffic tickets before the election. This shows the Governor’s willingness to mislead Californians while we go into more debt.
False Claim: Governor Newsom claims success in massive fire prevention work on 90,000 acres in 2020, suggesting we’re winning in the fight against wildfires.
Fact #3: NPR found Governor Newsom mislead us. California only worked on 11,399 acres in 2020. This proves the Governor’s willingness to mislead Californians on fire prevention. Newsom OVERSTATED wildfire prevent by 690%.
False Claim: Governor Newsom says: “The vast majority of homeless in SF come from Texas.” Suggesting California isn’t causing its own homeless problems.
Fact #4: The truth is, 70% lived in SF, 22% lived in CA elsewhere, 8% came from out of state, evidencing why the Administration’s policies have failed to understand, let alone fix, homelessness.
False Claim: Governor Newsom says he deserves “equal protection” and to be treated like other candidates. States his own campaign deadline is “unfair.”
Fact #5: Governor Newsom is suing his own administration for a law he signed into effect. The deadline he claims is “unconstitutional” is a deadline he signed into law. Now, because he missed his own deadline, he’s suing his administration. Yet ironically, competing candidates can only raise $32,400 in donations. Governor Newsom can raise unlimited funds, including $3,000,000 from the co-ceo of Netflix. Netflix was given special filming privileges during covid to stay open by Governor Newsom.
False Claim: Governor Newsom tweeted that “California is roaring back” and therefore able to spend $5.2 Billion on rent relief, implying the budget is so great, we can spend $5.2 billion giving back.
Fact #6: $2.6 billion is Federal money from the Trump-signed Omnibus & Covid plan in December 2020. $2.2 billion comes from Joe Biden’s America Rescue Plan. Leaving just $400 million coming from California. This evidence’s the Governor’s willingness to mislead Californian’s with the budget.
False Claim: California is extending Rental Evictions to help Tenants.
Fact #7: By the 7th month after EMERGENCY Rental Relief was provided by the Federal Government, California distributed “only slightly more than 2%” of rent-relief money. California had to extend rental evictions because they FAILED to help tenants sooner.
False Claim: Governor Newsom claims this is a Republican recall.
Fact #8: The top, leading Candidate vs Governor Newsom is Meet Kevin Paffrath, a moderate Democrat with real solutions.
False Claim: Governor Newsom claims he led the effort to decriminalize marijuana.
Fact #9: 80% of cannabis sold in California is illegal. Illegal farms in the Mojave Desert more than tripled from 2020 to 2021. Illegal farms pollute our ground water & steal water from fire hydrants. Californian’s solution? REMOVE 100 fire hydrants in an area relying on them for fire prevention. The Governor has not led the effort to “decriminalized” marijuana, he’s encouraged illegal farming and poor leadership in getting legal businesses licenses.
Our Governor’s policies mislead and trick Californians. Instead of being flush with cash, we’re going into debt, relying on one-off Federal spending packages to bail us out, the Governor’s policies ignore the causes of homelessness, fires, and ignore helping Latinos.
