Is the Free plan really free forever?
Yes. The Free plan gives you unlimited Vellums, unlimited publishing, unlimited Graphs and Designs, 2 Librams, and 5 GB of storage — with no time limit and no credit card required.
What does "publish" mean?
Publishing makes a Vellum publicly visible on your profile and discoverable on the platform. All plans — including Free — support unlimited publishing.
What is the yearly discount?
Paying yearly saves you $29 on Basic ($79/yr vs $108/yr) and $69 on Pro ($159/yr vs $228/yr). You can switch to monthly at any time from your billing portal.
Can I upgrade or downgrade at any time?
Yes. You can upgrade at any time. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.
Who can create an organization?
Anyone with a personal Pro plan can create up to 5 organizations. Joining one never needs a paid plan: if a colleague invites you by email, you can accept it on any plan, including Free.
Is an organization billed separately from my own plan?
Yes. Each organization has its own plan: Free for up to 5 people, Org Pro at $12 per person per month, or Org Enterprise at $299 per month for unlimited people and single sign-on. Your personal Pro plan only covers creating organizations.
What counts as a seat in an organization?
The owner, admins and members each use a seat, and so does an invitation that has not been accepted yet. Guests are free and never use a seat.
What happens if an organization cancels or a payment fails?
If a payment fails, new invitations pause until it is fixed; nobody is removed. If the subscription ends, the organization returns to Free: everyone stays, single sign-on turns off, and the organization can add people again once it is within 5.
What happens to my content if I downgrade?
All your Vellums and published content remain intact. If you drop below the Libram or storage limits of your new plan, you retain access to existing ones in read-only mode until you are within the new limits.
