Your Hearth
One place for everything you use every day — your car, your phone, your barber, the company that keeps the lights on — each one tap from where you’re going.
What a Hearth Is
Your Hearth is a page at viewert.com/your-username/hearth with a fire in the middle and five areas of daily life around it: Home, Move, Tech, Style and Care. A new Hearth is just five “+”, one in each area (you can try one with example products, no account needed, at viewert.com/hearth). You light a place by putting something you use in it — a product from Viewert, or anything of your own — and from then on it is one tap away from its page or website.
Lighting a Place
Select an empty place on the ring (or a card, on a phone) and choose how to fill it:
Find on Viewert
Search by name, by its address (the @name under it), or by tagline. Products with the verified badge come first. Two products can share a name; the @address is what tells them apart, so check it before you pick. A product can be in your Hearth once.
Add my own
For something that isn’t on Viewert yet — your landscaper, a local shop. Give it a name, a website if you like (so it’s one tap away), and a short note of up to 60 characters.
From a product page
On any product’s page, “Add to my Hearth” asks which area it belongs to and puts it in that area’s first free place.
A Ring That Grows With You
A Fire That Grows, in Light or Dark
Frames That Show the Score
Each product wears a round frame in the colour of its Viewert Score, so you can see at a glance what you use that is rated well. The tiers are the same everywhere on Viewert:
Poor
A plain grey frame.
Common
A pale, silvery frame.
Uncommon
Green, with a soft glow.
Rare
Blue, glowing.
Epic
Purple, glowing brighter.
Legendary
Gold and orange, and it turns slowly as if catching the light.

Finding Your Way Around
Press / (or choose the search box) and type to find something in your Hearth: what matches lights up, the rest steps back, and Enter opens the first. The row of area chips under it shows how full each area is; choose one to hold that area in focus, and choose it again to let go. The fire burns brighter the more of your Hearth is lit, and a place you have just lit gives a small flare.
On Your Phone
On a phone the whole Hearth is one small ring at the top, and the five areas are pages you swipe between: tap an arc of the ring, or a chip under it, to jump to an area. The bar at the bottom keeps what you do most within reach of your thumb — Find (every place as a list, narrowed as you type), Light a place (in the area you are looking at, or the next one with room) and More (who can see it, Customize, and whether to see one area at a time or all five stacked). Open a place and swipe sideways to look through the others; drag down to close it. The Viewert apps for Android and iPhone have the same Hearth in a tab of their own.
Help From the Things You Use
Open a product in your Hearth and, if its owner has added them, you will find the things a customer looks for: help and support, setup and instructions, warranty and returns, how to contact them, your account, a status page, a phone number and when someone is there. Each one shows the website it goes to, so you can see where a link leads before you follow it. Where the product hasn’t been verified, a line says so: check the address before you enter any details. The same help is on the product’s own page.
If You Make a Product
Open your product, choose Edit and find Help for your customers. Fill in only what applies; whatever you leave empty isn’t shown. Everything you add appears on the product’s page and in the Hearth of everyone who uses it.
Links
Help & support, Setup & instructions, Warranty & returns, Contact us, My account, Order or book again, Service status and Community. Each must start with https:// (we add it if you leave it off); a link with a username or password in it is refused.
Your own links
Up to 3 more, each with a name of up to 30 characters.
Phone, email and hours
A phone number of 7 to 15 digits, a support email, and up to 80 characters saying when someone can be reached.
Changing Things
Select a lit place to open it. From there you can follow it to its page or website, edit your note, replace it, move it or remove it. To move something, drag it: press and drag with a mouse, or touch and hold on a phone, then drag it onto another place and let go. The places in the way slide aside as you go, so you see where everything will land — drop it on a lit place and the two swap, or on an area’s “+” and it goes to the end of that area. (You can also choose Move and then an empty place, or another lit place to swap the two. Escape cancels either way.) Removing is immediate, with an Undo that stays for a few seconds.
Make the Areas Yours
Choose Customize to rename any of the five areas (up to 16 characters), give it a line saying what it’s for (up to 40), pick one of twelve colors and one of twenty-four pictures. Renaming “Style” to “Pets” moves nothing: what was in it stays in it. You can put any area, or all five, back to how they were. If you share your Hearth, visitors see your names and colors.
Who Can See It
What Businesses See
Sharing With the Things You Use
Sometimes you want a business to know something — where to send the jacket, which size you wear, how to reach you about a recall. Open a product in your Hearth, or its page, and choose what it may know. A product only asks for what it needs — its team chooses which of the things below it asks for — so you see only those with that product. Nothing is shared until you turn it on, and each thing is shared with one product at a time:
Your account email, or another one you have confirmed: Viewert emails that address a six-digit code and you type it back, so nobody can share an address that isn’t theirs. Only a confirmed email can be shared. You also say what it may be used for: only to help you with that product (support, orders, updates), or news and offers as well.
T-shirt size
One of XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL or 4XL, so the right size can be sent to you.
Delivery address
A name, an address and a country. Only brands Viewert has verified can be given an address.

You Stay in Control of What You Share
Your Audience (If You Make a Product)
On your product’s page, owners and admins find Audience (and All your products at viewert.com/products/audience). It is included with Basic and Pro; for a product owned by an organization, the organization needs Pro or Enterprise. It shows how many Hearths the product is in and how that is growing week by week, how they split across Home, Move, Tech, Style and Care, and — for the people who chose to share — what each one shared and when. Anything under three is hidden, so a number never points at one person. Members of the team who aren’t owners or admins see the numbers only.
Choose what you ask for
On the Audience page, under “What you ask people to share”, owners and admins choose which of email, T-shirt size and delivery address your product asks for. People with it in their Hearth see only those, and can share only those with you; ask for nothing and they see there is nothing to share. Until you choose, a product asks for everything it can. If you stop asking for something, what people already shared of it is removed from your list at once. Only a verified brand can ask for an address.
Anonymous by default
Everyone who hasn’t chosen to share is only a count. You are never told a name or a username, and each person is shown by a code that is the same for your product every time and different for every other product.
Use it for what they agreed to
An email marked “Support only” is for helping that person with your product, not for marketing. A size is for sending the right fit and an address for delivery. When someone takes something back, it disappears from the page.
Spreadsheets
Download everything people shared, or just the emails of people who agreed to news and offers (and nothing else about them). Each look at the people and each download is recorded.

Using It With a Keyboard or a Screen Reader
The places are a single stop when you press Tab, so you can get past them in one press. Inside, the arrow keys move along the ring; Home and End jump to the first and last; Page Up and Page Down jump a whole area; Enter opens a place and Escape closes it, returning you to where you were. Moving, adding and removing are announced, and Ring or Cards is remembered in the address (?view=cards), so a reload or a shared link keeps what you chose.
Arrow keys
Along the ring clockwise (or across and down the cards).
Page Up / Page Down
The previous or next area.
Enter / Escape
Open a place / close it and go back.
